Are you ready to implement IT solutions ?

The answer to the above question is not a simple one. And this is because one have to take into account the entire IT solution lifecycle before answering to this question. The typical phases of an IT solution implementation project are:

Evaluate - Plan - Build - Deploy - Operate

• During the Evaluate phase there are discussions, demonstrations based on previously built demos, evaluation of solution functionalities, collecting information and preliminary analysis of requirements. If needed, a Proof of Concept can be built to test solution functionalities and evaluate the ability of the solutions to meet the stated requirements. The decision to implement the solution is typically made right after this phase.
• In the Plan phase there are activities for solution architecture design, building the functional specifications, building the project plan and the project schedule and identifying the risks associated with the project.
• During the Build phase the components of the solutions are developed, tested and stabilized in order to prepare for the implementation in the production environment. The last verification is usually the pilot, when a release candidate of the solution is tested in the production environment with only a small number of users.
• In the Deployment phase the solution is implemented fully in the production environment. The users and administrators are trained and the solution ownership is transferred to the operations department.
• The last phase is Operate the solution in the production for its entire operating life. This important phase is very often overlooked when thinking about new projects.
